Owen Britt
Kind Sole
oil on canvas
30” x 30”
DESCRIPTION
Kind Sole is an ode to a special pair of shoes and the elements of
its wear. They have walked through their lifespan to their deterioration,
upholding their duty until, ultimate demise and retirement. These shoes
have been hung by their laces with care, the paint they have been depicted
with is spread along with canvas with a close eye, remaining true to every
mark. A matte shadow cast beneath the soles connects them to a void of new
life.
“What happens to the beloved pair of shoes worn for years on end?”
