JAZZY PALMA
Instagram Story
Acrylic paint, lace and rhinestones on canvas
15” x 35”
2025
DESCRIPTION
Instagram Story reveals the personal relationship that the most recent
generations have formed with social media. It pauses the overlooked rituals
that shape our online presence, like curating an outfit, angling a phone camera
“just right”, and selecting images “worthy” to be shared with the public.
The work is painted with vibrant and dense saturated colors, reflecting on
self-esteem and the highly performative nature of social media. This piece
allows viewers to engage with their online presence in a slower, more critical
way.
