GRACE ROBIN
Wear
acrylic on canvas
40” x 40”
DESCRIPTION
Wear explores the physical act of covering oneself in layers and the
mental act of putting up barriers. Despite the concealment, the raw heart
of the un-gessoed canvas shines through the silky mask of paint. No matter
how many coats we wear or the many emotional walls we construct, pieces
of us will always be vulnerable. This piece envelopes the viewer, keeping
their sensitivities safe under soft pastel waves. Despite our hiding and
protections, a warm core burns gently.
