EMMY CORSARO
Untitled 1
construction fencing, assorted fabric scraps
47” x 40” x 1.5”

DESCRIPTION
Untitled 1 is a geometric, woven textile. The work is amusing and
sporadic, with a personality that shines through the use of sewing and
combined found material. The work repurposes with meditative and
conscious emotion, for personal needs, as a way to cope with healing a
wound that may seem to never heal. These are wounds that the world
physically has that a semi-functioning society ignores, such as clothing
and fabrics destined for landfills. The viewer is urged to take mindful
approaches to consumption and waste, and to reflect on sustainability,
reuse, and the hidden beauty within what we call waste.
